Sam Asghari stepped in to comment on the documentaries that are airing about Britney Spears. The superstar’s fiance commented they left him with a “bad aftertaste.”
When FX released a documentary called Framing Britney Spears, her conservatorship fight was just starting. But the pop superstar was yet to comment on what was going on.
After it all went public after her court hearing at the beginning of this summer, a lot of networks jumped and started creating documentaries about her situation.
Netflix will also air their own version, Britney vs. Spears, which is to air on September 28.
But Sam Asghari, who recently got engaged to Britney, stepped in and commented on the documentaries networks trying to “shed light” on her situation, without her input or approval.
He wrote on his Instagram Story: “Apparently my opinion has increased in value over last few days. Past docs left bad after taste. I’m hopeful this one will be respectful. I don’t blame CNN , BBC or Netflix (which got me thru lockdowns) for airing them because, as an actor I tell other people’s stories too. I question producers who made them ‘just to shed light’ without input or approval from subject.” He also showed his loyalty, adding “Any credit for light being shed should go to #FreeBritney,” at the end.
Word has been that people have been trying to contact Britney for Framing Britney Spears, but they couldn’t reach her.
