Shakira just cleared the air on the ambulance pictures that appeared online. The pop singer shared a statement where she revealed her father took a bad fall, and she accompanied him to the hospital.
In the midst of her breakup with FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, Shakira is also dealing with some personal issues.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer has just hopped online to clear the air on something. Following the breakup rumors from pique, pictures online showed Shakira in an ambulance. Several outlets claimed the actress had an anxiety attack that might have had something to do with the cheating rumors surrounding her relationship with Pique.
But the truth couldn’t be further away from that. While we don’t know the specifics of her breakup from the Catalan soccer star, the ambulance pictures had nothing to do with that.
So she wanted to let everyone know that. In a statement released on Twitter, Shakira wrote, both in Spanish and English, “Guys, I’m getting a lot of messages of concern that I was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently. I just wanted to let you know that those photos are from last weekend (the 28th), when my dad unfortunately had a bad fall and I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital where he is recovering now.“
She finished her message, writing: “Please do send all your best wishes his way and thank you all as always for all of your love & support.”
Shakira also added a picture of her and her dad, whose name is William Mebarak Chadid.
On Saturday, she also officially confirmed she and Gerard Pique have decided to break up. The two had been together for over 11 years after meeting in 2010 at the World Cup. They share two children, Milan, born in 2013, and Sasha, born in 2015.
