Anne Hathaway made Queen Clarisse proud at her latest event at Shanghai Bvlgari in a gorgeous golden gown that made her look like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Hathaway has had many iconic roles in her over two-decade career. She played Andrea in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada, Princess Mia in the two The Princess Diaries films, and won an Oscar for 2012’s Les Misérables. She flirted with the superhero world as Catwoman in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises and, in 2024, she returned to romance adaptations in Prime Video’s The Idea of You.
Over the years, Anne Hathaway has also served impeccable fashion. She continues to do so and, as a brand ambassador for jewelry brand Bvlgari since 2022, Anne Hathaway was a glowing real-life princess at her latest event.
Anne Hathaway shone brightly in an Oscar de la Renta gold gown
Hathaway was one of the stars who attended the opening ceremony of Bvlgari’s Serpenti Infinito Exhibition in Shanghai, which celebrates the upcoming Year of the Snake in the lunar calendar. Some other names who attended the event were the CEO of Bvlgari, Jean-Christophe Babin, and actress Liu Yifei.
For the event, Anne Hathaway was ready to impress and didn’t disappoint in a sculptural Oscar de la Renta gown. The dress, which comes from the brand’s upcoming spring 2025 collection is a strapless gown that looks like sunshine, with a full skirt that ended just before the floor, revealing her gold Louboutin sandals.
As expected, Hathaway accessorized the gold dress with several jewelry pieces from Bvlgari, including earrings, a cocktail ring, and a custom Serpenti necklace from Bvlgari’s newest collection, which features a series of necklaces covered with blue and pink gemstones, held together by a golden snake on top.
When it comes to her look, Hathaway opted for a sleek tight chignon with a side part and a strand of hair to frame her face. She had full eyebrows, rosy cheeks, and a deep pink lipstick.
The look was put together by her longtime stylist, Erin Walsh. The duo appeared on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter together for a feature that celebrated stylists, and have created Hathaway’s most iconic outfits together. Walsh has other famous names in her portfolio, including Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, and Juno Temple.
Hathaway’s golden look attracted praise online as she looked positively royal. “This is so Belle from Beauty And The Beast-coded… ugh I LOVE her!” wrote a fan on a style-related Instagram account. “She’s such a fashion girlie and I love that for her!” A different one added, “Princess Diaries 3 Loading…”
The comment was not wrong because a third installment in The Princess Diaries is currently in development. Hathaway will reprise her role as Mia Thermopolis, over two decades since she took the throne of Genovia in 2004’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Adele Rim will direct the new installment, but there are no details about the plot or if Julie Andrews and Chris Pine will return to reprise their characters.
Until then, Anne Hathaway’s golden sunshine look is just a tease of Mia’s upcoming style as Queen of Genovia.
