One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush and Grant Hughes are heading for divorce, only 13 months after getting married.
In 2021, the Chicago PD actress announced her engagement with businessman Grant Hughes. He proposed while on a holiday at Lake Como in Italy. “So it turns out that being your favorite person’s favorite person is the actual best feeling on planet Earth,” Bush wrote alongside a photo of Hughes on one knee, adding: “My heart. It bursts.”
They married in Tulsa, Oklahoma in June 2022 in a lavish, yet intimate wedding. Guests included her PD co-star and friend Marina Squerciati, and One Tree Hill pals Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton.
Now, Sophia Bush, 41, and Grant Hughes are heading for divorce.
“Sophia and Grant were friends for 10 years and bonded during COVID through their love of community service,” a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. “They continue to run their nonprofit together and remain good friends.”
The news comes seven weeks after Bush celebrated their wedding anniversary in a post on Instagram. “Today marks 365 days of calling you ‘husband,’” she captioned a black and white throwback photo of the two on their wedding day. “Best decision of my life. It still feels just like this. Ecstatic. Running toward the future, grinning and laughing, together. I love you, my favorite. Happy Anniversary 🤍.”
Bush hasn’t officially confirmed the news, but she has erased all the pictures with her former husband. There are no details as to what lead to their upcoming divorce.
However, one day before the news broke out, Bush posted a photo from what looks like hiking with her friends. She wrote in the caption, “I left the house twice this week for things that weren’t doctors appointments. What a win. Also I love my friends.“
Prior to her marriage to Hughes, Bush was married to her OTH co-star, Chad Michael Murray, for 5 months before divorcing due to his infamous infidelity.
