Taylor Swift is ready to move on to a new era and announced her eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department.
Fans have been hoping Swift would announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the 66th Grammy Awards, but they weren’t that lucky. The singer-songwriter had changed her profile pictures on her social media to a black-and-white photo of her latest studio album, Midnights, and everyone believed it was finally time to release the reputation re-recording. Unfortunately, they weren’t right with that one, but something great is coming their way.
During her speech for Best Pop Vocal Album, Taylor Swift announced a new studio album: The Tortured Poets Department. She also revealed she wanted to share the news for two years, which could mean she started working on it right after releasing Midnights.
Following her speech, she subsequently revealed the cover art on social media. The caption reads: “All’s fair in love and poetry…” Swift’s eleventh studio album has 17 tracks, 16 regular plus a bonus track.
The Tortured Poets Department is out on April 19, 2024.
Taylor Swift Is One of the Most Prolific Artists
The Tortured Poets Department is Taylor Swift’s eleventh studio album. The first six, (Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and reputation) were with her first record label, Big Red Machine. However, after the label didn’t offer Swift an opportunity to buy her masters, Swift went on and re-recorded the albums. So far, she released four of them, with only reputation and the self-titled Taylor Swift (or debut) left to come out.
Following her move to Republic Records, Swift releases Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights, as well as her four re-recorded albums. The Tortured Poets Department will be the new Taylor Swift album, and its title sure hints that fans will need a dictionary when listening to it.
