Taylor Swift took it to social media to celebrate Pride Month. The singer-songwriter thanked the “courageous activists, advocates and allies” in her sweet message.

In the last couple of years, Taylor Swift has shown to be a powerful ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

Previously, Taylor didn’t like to get into politics that much. She showed her stance in her “Welcome to New York” 1989 song. She sings “And you can want who you want, boys and boys, and girls and girls.”

But then, she took a more powerful stance during her Lover era. Her “You Need to Calm Down” music video features a number of celebrity cameos. Most of them are people from the LGBTQ+ community.

The music video stars actress Laverne Cox, entertainer and friend Todrick Hall, singer Hayley Kiyoko, actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, lawyer Justin Mikita, singer CiaraNetflix series Queer Eye‘s Tan FranceBobby BerkKaramo BrownAntoni PorowskiJonathan Van Ness, figure skater Adam Rippon, singer Adam Lambert, television host Ellen DeGeneres, entertainers Billy Porter and RuPaul, singer Katy Perry and actor and close friend Ryan Reynolds.

Now, Taylor Swift has taken it to social media to celebrate Pride Month with a sweet message.

Taylor wrote: “I want to take a moment to thank the courageous activists, advocates and allies for their dedication to fighting against discrimination and hatred.”

She continued: “And, as always, today I’m sending my respect and love to those bravely living out their truth, even when the world we live in still makes that so hard to do.”

Taylor ended her message, writing: “Who you love and how you identify shouldn’t put you in danger, leave you vulnerable or hold you back in life. I proudly join GLAAD in their #summerofequality and add my voice to those who support the Equality Act. Happy Pride month!”
