The Ellen DeGeneres Show to End with Season 19

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is is about to end with upcoming Season 19. Ellen DeGeneres will open up about the news this Thursday with her guest, Oprah Winfrey.

It’s the end of an era. The Ellen Degeneres Show will end with the next season. Ellen DeGeneres has created a lot of fun memories for her guests, and she’s one of the most recognizable hosts on daytime television.

She loves to scare people, she loves to make them confess things… She invented a fun game, Heads Up, to play with her guests… And so many other challenges.

But the recent years haven’t been that great for Ellen. Her employees have accused Ellen of creating a toxic environment. Ellen publicly spoke on the claims, and they also started an internal investigation into the claims. But the story seems to have hurt her show. Since the September premiere in which DeGeneres addressed the allegations, the show has lost more than a million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings.

The Ellen Show debuted in 2003, and over the years the hit program has earned 64 Daytime Emmys.

After 19 seasons, Ellen has decided to move on.

In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ellen revealed that she needs more challenge in her future.

Ellen said: “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged. And as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore.”

During the interview, Ellen revealed that the controversy was not a reason to end the show. However, it was hurtful.

“It almost impacted the show. It was very hurtful to me. I mean, very. But if I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn’t have come back this season. So, it’s not why I’m stopping but it was hard because I was sitting at home, it was summer, and I see a story that people have to chew gum before they talk to me and I’m like, ‘Okay, this is hilarious.’ Then I see another story of some other ridiculous thing and then it just didn’t stop. And I wasn’t working, so I had no platform, and I didn’t want to address it on [Twitter] and I thought if I just don’t address it, it’s going to go away because it was all so stupid.”

In the end, we got to see Ellen on the small screen for 19 amazing years. I can’t wait to hear what she’ll do next!
