Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made Time’s top 100 most influential people in the world, and they have the Photoshopped cover to prove it. And the internet can’t get over how obvious that is.
It’s been an eventful year for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The two have been in the headlines a lot, with their Oprah interview, several podcast appearances and interviews. But the former British royals did receive more attention than they claimed they wanted when they were working full-time for the monarchy.
Now Time magazine named Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their top 100 most influential people, and, unsurprisingly, put them on the cover. While the picture surely is flattering to both of them, the bad Photoshopped sparked a whole debate on body language and baldness-covering.
Check out some of the reactions to the cover:
Terrible retouching job. They look CGI pic.twitter.com/bp2jBldKMZ

This looks like Harry is her hairdresser and he’s looking into the mirror explaining what he did to her layers. pic.twitter.com/pLA9Ox034r

But the difference in these tropes is that the man is not ‘hiding’ behind her. The feeling is ‘possession / protection’.

In one way or another, the man’s hands imply that it’s his wife or partner. pic.twitter.com/u5pQyw7DuJ

Nevertheless, I wouldn’t overthink this Time Magazine cover too much, guys. Prince Harry has a lifetime of being the second banana, and even painters picked up his submissive and secondary vibe. pic.twitter.com/lfKAOTBA0W

Prince Harry so photoshopped that his bald spots don’t even show, and naming them Icons?? They are so toxic to the world! What a waste of article!
