TS10 is coming: Taylor Swift just announced she will drop a brand-new album called Midnights during the VMAs on Sunday (Aug. 28).
Swifties know Taylor Swift is a woman of many surprises. And, as much as they struggle to decipher all the hidden meanings and Easter Eggs, they almost always fall short.
Taylor Swift made her surprise appearance at the 2022 Video Music Awards. She wore an absolutely gorgeous outfit from Oscar de la Renta. Tay was not there to play, though. She didn’t leave home with less than three awards.
One of her awards, Vide of the Year, also brought a very important reveal: her upcoming tenth album. She got on the stage to accept the award for the ten-minute version of “All Too Well,” which stars Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien.
During her speech, Taylor thanked her fans. But she also said : “I had made up my mind that if you were gonna be this generous, and give us this …” She meant a brand-new album, not one of her re-recordings. (Which we’re still waiting for, by the way, Taylor.)
She revealed all the details at midnight on social media: “We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t — right this minute — about to make some fateful life-altering mistake,” she wrote.
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face,” Taylor went on. “For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching — hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve … we’ll meet ourselves.”
Fans believed TS10 would be part of the folklore/ evermore eras, but so far, it looks like it’s completely different.
Taylor Swift will release Midnights on October 21.
