After a long wait, we finally have the first teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder,and it’s as glorious as you’d expect. We even get a glimpse at Natalie Portman‘s Mighty Thor.
It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have the first teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder. The movie, which will be the fourth installment in the Thor franchise, wrapped up filming almost a year ago, in early June, 2021. It brings back our favorites, and more, under Taika Waititi‘s direction. The actor and director was also in charge of Thor: Ragnarok, which quickly became a fan favorite.
Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor is now dealing with the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, and he’s trying to find his place in the world. After giving up his role as Asghard’s ruler, he chose to leave with Star Lord and co.
“My superheroing days are over,”
Thor, who doesn’t believe it, either.
As Thor is on his quest to find himself, his “retirement” gets interrupted, of course, by a galactic killer. The villain in question is Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who wants all the gods to become extinct.
To help fight him, Thor puts together a team. Naturally, it includes Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and his ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster.
We also get a few seconds of amazing character development as Jane inexplicably is able to wield Thor’s magical, hammer, Mjolnir, as she becomes the Mighty Thor.
Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillian), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and Groot (Vin Diesel) also make an appearance in the short teaser.
Initially slated for a premiere on February 22, 2022, the fourth Thor will hit theaters on July 8, 2022. Tell us what you think of the trailer below.
