A Quiet Place: Day One Super Bowl spot shows Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn fighting for survival, alongside a cat.
The new installment in the A Quiet Place series has recently released its first trailer. Unlike the first two, which starred John Krasinski and his wife, actress Emily Blunt, the new horror will follow new characters. However, there is a third sequel in the works, as well.
A Quiet Place: Day One follows the events of the alien invasion. It will star Black Panther’s Lupita Nyong’o and Stranger Things‘ Joseph Quinn, as well as Djimon Hounsou, Dennis O’Hare, and Alex Wolff. While all actors are well-versed in the horror genre, Hounsou is the only actor to return from the previous installment. He reprises his character Man on the Island from A Quiet Place Part II. However, the character also died in the second installment while helping Emmett and Regan.
The Super Bowl spot for A Quiet Place: Day One, shows Nyong’o’s character trying to stay alive, while still holding on to her cat. The 30-second ad starts with everyone going about their day, with Nyong’o holding a cat. The new teaser focuses on Lupita Nyong’o’s character’s heavy breathing, as well as her ears ringing, with thrilling music in the background, without hearing any of the explosions going on. However, chaos soon ensues, and she has to fight for survival.
Since it’s a horror movie, the cat will most likely not make it through the halfway mark. It will surely find a gruesome death, which will be difficult for animal lovers. However, none of the characters (aside from Man on the Island, who viewers already know dies) are safe.
The new installment won’t have Krasinski at the helm, leaving way for Michael Sarnoski (Pig). The longer trailer was revealed recently. It includes several scenes from the previous films, going back to the first day.
A Quiet Place: Day One will be out in theaters on June 28, 2024.
