Adele is finally releasing new music, and shared her upcoming song is titled “Easy on Me.” The singer also shared a teaser of a very on-brand black and white music video.
With a similar look to her 2015 hit single “Hello,” Adele, 33, is coming back with a new single “Easy on Me.”
In the teaser, which will most likely be part of her upcoming fourth album, she dramatically looks into the rearview mirror with her signature black winged eyeliner. She puts in a cassette written “Easy on Me,” and as she drives, written sheet music pages fly out of her car. The melody is gentle and perfect for heartbreak.
There is a lot of anticipation surrounding the British singer, because her latest album, 25, came out over six years ago. That’s a whole lot of break for the singer-songwriter, who got divorced, lost a lot of weight, and started dating someone new in the meantime.
We’re getting all of our tissues ready, because the black and white teaser doesn’t look happy at all. At this point, I’m wondering whether Adele is able to write a song without having all of us crying our eyes out.
So far, all of her albums were age-titled, creating a story about her personal life. Given how much has happened, I think she’s had quite enough material, and it has a lot of potential to be all about heartbreak.
“Easy on Me” is set for release on October 15, and I can’t wait.
