Sex and the City star Chris Noth calls the sexual assault allegations “completely ridiculous,” but he does admit he “strayed” on his wife.
Chris Noth, famous for playing the charming Mr. Big in HBO’s Sex and the City. However, the reboot, And Just Like That…, killed off the character in the first episode. It’s unclear if that had anything to do with the upcoming sexual assault allegations that followed, but Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis released a joint statement supporting the victims.
In their joint statement, the ladies wrote: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth.” The statement continued: “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
Following the accusations, the actor downright denied the claims: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
Chris Noth Addresses the Sexual Assault Allegations Again
Chris Noth is addressing again the multiple sexual assault allegations brought against him. Speaking for the first time since the December 2021 accusation, the actor maintains that he is innocent, calling what he termed the “add-ons” to the women’s stories “completely ridiculous” with “absolutely no basis in fact.” He does admit that his only transgression was cheating on his wife, Tara Wilson.
“I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture,” he claimed while speaking to USA Today. “What it isn’t is a crime.“
“There’s nothing I can say to change anyone’s mind when you have that kind of a tidal wave,” Noth says. “It sounds defensive. I’m not. There’s no criminal court. There’s no criminal trial. There’s nothing for me to get on the stand about and get my story out, get witnesses. And there’s even more absurd add-ons that are completely ridiculous, that have absolutely no basis in fact. And I don’t like talking about it because as soon as I do, you’ll get the Daily Mail or someone grabbing a part of it and doing it, and I don’t want my kids seeing that.“
No criminal charges have been filed. However, the industry turned its back on him. Now, he’s insisting that his only transgression was adultery. Now, he is partnering with bespoke suit company Samuelsohn to launch an awareness campaign about men’s mental health.
