Dave Bautista has one of the funniest characters in Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he might make an appearance in Thor 4. But what is he willing to share about that? Not that much currently, but he seems to hint that he stars in the movie.
Former professional Dave Bautista stars as Drax in the Guardians of The Galaxy series. But following the events in Avengers: Endgame, he left with Thor (Chris Hemwsorth) and Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).
We do have sequels for both Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor. So will Dave Bautista make an appearance in Thor 4?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bautista opened up about his latest movie, Zack Snyder‘s Army of the Death. He also addressed the possibility of starring in Thor 4.
When it comes to shooting during quarantine, all actors had to make sacrifices. Bautista commented whether director Taika Waititi made his time worthwhile and created more content for the characters.
Of course, when it comes to Marvel, we all know how big on secrets they are. So that’s why they’re constantly keeping Tom Holland in the dark. But Bautista knows the deal and said: “Well, assuming that I went to Australia to shoot for Thor 4… I know that Chris Pratt has announced that he’s in Thor 4, but I haven’t heard from anybody at Marvel or Disney where it would be OK for me to say that I was in Thor 4. So I will neither confirm nor deny.”
However, he had nothing but praise for Taika Waititi.
“But having said that, I’ve worked with Taika before, and so I know Taika’s process. Taika’s process is whatever’s written on page, there’s going to be a dozen more opportunities for you to shine because he’s an improvisational-type actor and he’s an improvisational-type director. So yes, if you have an opportunity to work with Taika Waititi, don’t even be concerned about how small the role is because if you get there and start killing it, he’s going to make you a bigger part of the film. Did that answer your question in a roundabout way?”
Dave also addressed the pictures of him and the cast in Australia.
“Yeah, it’s one of those things where I kind of dance around it because I don’t want to piss anybody at Marvel off. I don’t want to piss anybody at Disney off. And as far as I know, I guess they gave Pratt a go-ahead to announce that he was in the film, but I haven’t heard anything about it. And as far as I’ve heard, they said it’s not OK to confirm that you’re in the film. But obviously, when all the Guardians are on a Disney jet going to Australia and they photograph us walking into the hotel… There are photographs of everybody except for me on set. So because there were no photographs of me as Drax on set, I’ve not come out and said, “Yeah, I’m in Thor 4.””
Well… Even if he’s not, maybe Drax is just invisible. Thor 4’s name is Thor: Love and Thunder and will premiere on February 22, 2022.
