Ed Sheeran and J Balvin surprised everyone when they announced their collaboration songs a few days ago. They released them today, and they’re called “Forever My Love” and “Sigue.”
Ed Sheeran is already an established singer, with a huge fanbase. But that doesn’t stop him from trying out different genres, and collaborating with artists he loves.
In fact, despite the fact that he’s most famous for his heart-melting ballads like “Perfect” or “Thinking Out Loud,” he’s collaborated with people since the beginning.
Right after his debut album, +, the singer released a collaboration album in 2011. It was called “No. 5 Collaborations Project,” and a second one followed, “No. 6 Collaboration Project.” The latter included a lot of famous artists, ranging from Camila Cabello and Cardi B to 50 Cent and Eminem, and more.
Plus, he’s a frequent collaborator to Taylor Swift.
But now, he’s planning to expand further. As he recently hinted a project with rapper Kodak Black, the British pop sensation has found a different person: Latin singer J. Balvin.
Ed Sheeran and J Balvin released two songs called “Forever My Love” and “Sigue” on Friday, March 25.
The two shared their history a few days ago, and how they became friends. The two singers met in a gym in New York in 2021, and their connection was instantaneous.
They went up to get coffee, and quickly became friends. He met Balvin in a studio over Christmas in New York, and the magic happened.
Sheeran added: “Was a proper challenge learning Spanish for this and I had so much fun doing it.”
And you can see the result in the two songs. A ballad, and a reggaetón bop. But Sheeran dipped his toes in Spanish for his recent collaboration song with Camila Cabello, “Bam Bam,” which is also a Spanglish song.
