Ed Sheeran is back with new music, and he gave a few interviews where he talked about comparing notes with Taylor Swift on music. Back in the day, he made the wrong choice between “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood.”
Ed Sheeran just released the first single for his upcoming untitled fourth album. “Bad Habits” is a fun, good-feel, dancey song, and it’s more commercial than anything Ed has done so far. Even more than “Shape of You.”
But the British singer, who is known for his romantic ballads, wants to try something new.
Following the release of his single, a lot of press followed. So he had quite a lot of interviews booked up.
In one of them, Ed talked about sharing notes about the music they’re doing every time he meets up with fellow artist and friend, Taylor Swift. Back in 2012, Ed opened up for Taylor’s Red Tour. Now Taylor’s upcoming re-recorded album is Red (Taylor’s Version). Since Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift released some music together, I can’t want to see what they’ll come up with for their duet song, “Everything Has Changed.”
Ed and Taylor also collaborated for “End Game,” off reputation, which, legally would be the last one to re-record.
Now Ed talked choosing which song would be more popular between “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood.”
“Me and Taylor do that when we see each other, me and Taylor play each other tunes, get not validation, but just like ‘what do you think of it, what do you think of this?’”
“I famously said to her, she played me ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Bad Blood.’ She said ‘Which one should come out first?’ And I was like ‘definitely ‘Bad Blood,’ that’s the smasher’…obviously ‘Blank Space’ is like her biggest tune. I was definitely wrong.”

Ed also admitted being wrong about his own songs. He wasn’t sure of smasher “Shape of You,” and said it didn’t fit on Divide, musically.
Taylor also shared her support for Ed on social media. She promoted “Bad Habits,” and said “I legitimately cannot get it out of my head”
Ed has a new song out and I legitimately cannot get it out of my head! And this VIDEO!! Stream/Buy/Support/bop to it uncontrollably all summer #BadHabits https://t.co/UFBBTsHRlD
