Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are officially heading for divorce. The singer reportedly filed for divorce, claiming “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” PEOPLE reports. The Jonas Brothers singer, 34, filed on Tuesday in Miami for a dissolution of marriage from the Game of Thrones actress, 27.
Jonas and Turner have a prenup in place, according to the divorce filing.
On Wednesday, September 6, both shared a statement on social media confirming the news.
“Statement from the two of us,” the post began, written with black font on a grey background. “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
At the moment, there’s no information as to what lead to the divorce.
Despite the divorce, Joe Jonas was still wearing his wedding ring. He uploaded a picture to Instagram still wearing it. He also had it on during the Jonas Brothers tour stop in Austin, Texas on Sunday.

Sophie and Joe met on Instagram, first communicating via DMs in 2016. They started dating shortly after and, one year later, they were engaged. They shared a picture of Turner’s hand showing off her engagement ring. Jonas captioned the image, “She said yes,” while Turner also wrote, “I said yes.“
The two tied the knot in 2019 with a surprise wedding in Las Vegas. Later, they had a more extravagant one in the French countryside with A-list guests.
The couple shares two children, daughter Willa, which they welcomed in 2020. In July 22, they welcomed their second child, a second daughter, whose name they have not publicly shared. She is identified in the divorce documents as D., 14 months.
