Jared Padalecki revealed on social media that he’s “gutted” about not knowing about the Supernatural prequel. Jensen and Danneel Ackles announced the news today.
Supernatural ended its 15-seasons run last year. The show has meant so much for the fans, creating campaigns about depression. It truly felt like a family.
And it was.
A lot of relationships started on the show. Jared met Genevieve Cortes (now Padalecki) as she starred on the show as second Ruby. Jeffrey Dean Morgan met his wife, Hilarie Burton, on a blind date Jensen and Danneel organized.
Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles often said they were like brothers in real life. They moved to the same city, they co-own a bar, they were groomsmen at each other’s weddings. Their children are close.
Now that Jensen and Danneel announced they wanted to continue the Supernatural legacy, everyone was thrilled. Everyone but Jared.
Jared Padalecki took it to Twitter and revealed he didn’t know about the plans for the Supernatural prequel. The upcoming show will focus on Sam and Dean’s parents, and is called The Winchesters.
He showed his disappointment to find out about it online, like everyone else.
Jared wrote: “Dude. Happy for you. Wish I heard about this some way other than Twitter. I’m excited to watch, but bummed that Sam Winchester had no involvement whatsoever.”
He later replied to a fan that it’s not a joke. “No. It’s not. This is the first I’ve heard about it. I’m gutted.”
Dude. Happy for you.

He also called out Former co-executive producer Robbie Thompson in a now-deleted tweet. He had written: “Et tu brute? Wow. What a truly awful thing you’ve done. #Bravo you coward.”
