Ryan Reynolds shared how his relationship with Blake Lively began. In a new SmartLess episode, Ryan recalls how he was “begging her to sleep with me.”
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are one of the fan-favorite Hollywood couples. The two have been together for almost a decade (“45 years in Hollywood years,” Ryan adds). They are also at their best when they roast each other.
Ryan and Blake met on the set of his superhero movie, Green Lantern (2011). And their relationship began after the movie. The two got married in 2012, and share three daughters, James, Inez and Betty.
During a new episode of the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, Ryan talked about his first job, owning a Welsh soccer club, his first big acting job, and how he started his relationship with Blake. Right after he shared that he “ate her.”
And he described it as something “like out of a fairytale.”
The Deadpool actor shared: “I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern. And we were friends and buddies. And then, about a year and a half later, we went on a double date but we were with dating separate people.”
“We hang out, and kind of, we always kept in touch, sort of casually.”
“Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and I said, ‘Well, I’ll ride with you.’ We got on the train and we rode together. And then, I was just begging her to sleep with me.”
He also confirmed he made the first move. He shared that he knew from the beginning, and got serious very fast. “A week later I was like, ‘We should buy a house together.’ And we did.”
