It’s been a long time coming: Taylor Swift has found a streaming platform for The Eras Tour Concert Film and revealed the date of the release on streaming.
Taylor Swift is making headlines again, but this time, it’s all about her concert film. The Eras Tour Concert Film followed her journey in the first leg of her record-breaking, $1-billion+ tour in the U.S. The concert film hit theaters on October 13, before heading to VOD on December 13, 2023.
After announcing her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department at the 66th Grammy Music Awards, and its tracklist one day after, Swift is still full of surprises. The superstar has re-started the tour with a four-day stay in Tokyo, Japan, and just revealed when The Eras Tour Concert Film will head to streaming, and it’s very soon.
Swift hopped on social media to share the news, adding two pictures of the official posters: one in black-and-white, fitting for her latest era, and the original colored poster. The upcoming documentary will be released on Disney+.
“This week is truly the best kind of chaos,” Swift started her message. “I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be Disney+.” Swift previously released her Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, a documentary following her journey in creating 2020’s hit album Folklore, which included acoustic performances, on the same platform in 2020.
“For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including “cardigan”, plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)”. Available starting March 15 which is actually very soon.”
Taylor Swift Keeps Giving Fans Reasons To Be Happy
Swift has just returned on tour, but she is expected to make a brief return to the U.S. for the Super Bowl. Her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is playing in the massive event. Swift is expected to travel from Japan ahead of the event, despite her playing a concert the day before.
She will continue touring in February, and will premiere the Concert Film on streaming on March 15. After that, she will kick off her new era, The Tortured Poets Department, out on April 19.
Swift has still two albums for re-release, reputation and Taylor Swift, which might happen sometime later this year. The Eras Tour will take place throughout 2024, with her latest announced date being December 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada.
